Research - Intertextuality examples.

James Morrison: All of these images clearly have intertextuality. This is shown through the main image, the style of font, the size of font, James Morrison's logo, mise-en-scene and the emotion of the image. All of the main images are of the artist and are medium close ups. The photographer will have used medium close ups to show the emotion on his face and also the relaxed pose he is portraying. The style of the writing on the cover are all the same, including the same font size and colour. This has been done to show the similarities and to make it clear that they have been created by the same artist. The mise-en-scene in the picture are all related. The background of the picture is a relaxed scenario, portraying the genre of the music. The clothes that the artist wears throughout the covers are all relaxed and laid back, which again shows the style of music. The emotion of the artists face are all quite sad and unhappy. This could show the audience that the style of the music is slow with a depressed tone. The artist is always looking down to the floor which shows us that he is unhappy and this again suggests the genre of his music.
